Yang Huang born and raised in mainland China, came to the U.S. shortly after taking part in the 1989 Democracy Movement. She works as a computer engineer for U. C. Berkeley and as a writer by vocation.
Yang spent five years to write the book and another five years to publish the book, and openly shared her experience of publishing a fiction with audience. Living Treasures is a top ten historical novel of 2014.
