The 2010 CLA Conference (topic: Navigating the New: Charting the Future Together) will be hold at the Sacramento Convention Center from Nov.12-15.
Please notice: our CALA-NCA program “Cooperation, collaboration & Resource Sharing” is scheduled from 3:25pm to 4:30pm. We have four wonderful speakers: John Stucky (Chinese curator, Asian Art Museum, San Francisco), Celia Bakke (San Jose State University Library), Shi Deng (University of California, San Diego), Richard Le (San Francisco Public Library), they will talk about cooperative collection development, facilitating and promoting open access through cooperation with faculty, using vendor supplied shelf-ready service as strategic planning and using new technology for better public service, etc.
I strongly recommend our members to attend this conference (at least to support our own CALA program). This will not only be a good opportunity to catch up with any new trends in our field, but also provide a time for our members to socialize with each other and exchange our ideas, strengthen our connections. We are planning a dinner for our members (and your friends or spouse who go with you) after our program is done.
If you are planning to attend the program and dinner, could you please also respond to our Treasure, Janet Lin (firstname.lastname@example.org) ? We need to estimate the number of people to make arrangements for the dinner.
If you want to know more about that program, please go to this website and read the “Registration Brochure”. Our program is listed on page 24.
You can also read the message from the conference organizer about the Friday program to decide if you are interested in more programs on the same day!
Please do respond to Janet Lin and let us know you are attending or not!! We really appreciate it!
